The Year End Awards - Serious ( sort of) Division

We all know that some of our members do exceptional work; exceptional service to our hobby and exceptional service to this website - they should be recognized - I am going to make my nominations for the "unofficial" awards..... just a way to say thanks to the talented and dedicated people we have here.......

" Modeler of the year" - Tie: Martyscustomn and Ronngauger

Marty is the basher of rolling stock and loco's I want to be - his work is proto, without being a rivet counter's delight; he captures the prototype in N scale and makes it look real.

Ron's custom loco's are to die for - he can paint like few in our hobby - he is methotical, exact and doesn't create models, he creates masterpieces.

" Photographer of the year": 50's Diner - 50's can make a small scene come alive - his detail and "vision" for a scene is wonderful - if 50's shot it, you better check and see " is it live or is it Memorex"......

" New comer of the year" - Trains 1972 and Mikeaxis: What a pair of builders - they have started a great layout and then, unhappy with their efforts ( and they were the only ones....) they re-loaded and have started again...... can't wait to see the results.....

" Scene builder of the year" - TheBige" - Anyone want to buy his mountains...? I do... BigE has built the best looking, most awesome mountains I've seen in a long time - he's detailed his construction to us and the result is museum quality work.......

" Layout maker of the year" - Midniteflyer - He build quality; he builds challenging layouts; he combines operations and scenery... and he does it in 12 hours or less....... Midnite is the King of building layouts........

" Contributor of the year" - Tie: Sergio and Eagle:

Sergio is the reason we have this place - his vision and his efforts, not to mention his dollars have built the premier N scale website in the world - without him, we'd just be surfing, because of him, we're a community.

Eagle is the heart.... just like a Marine, isn't it...? Eagle has been with us through the good times and the not so good. He wears his N scale.org badge of honour on his sleeve and has done more to inspire, invigorate and instill this place as the "n" scale place to be than anyone... and did I mention he's a damn fine modeler...?

Well, there's my nominations.... there is no contest, no winners and no losers, just a way to recognize those who's efforts have been " extraordinary" in 2004.....

Thanks everyone.... n scale.org is the place to be.
