I like multi level trackage and right now the back track is there purely for scenic interest. Sounds like a good plan. I didn't realize you were using this as the start of a bigger layout. I thought it was just to hold you until you could go back to work on the bigger layout. It's wise to plan ahead and use what you have if you can.
